The public face of a regional banking body, built during my internship at the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) — my first major project for a recognized institution.
The Brief
A website for a regional body, not a single business
WABA is a regional association that promotes cooperation, integration, and development across the West African banking and finance sector. During my 2024 internship with CIBN, I was assigned to design and build WABA's official website — a platform meant to serve as an information hub for bankers, policymakers, and partner institutions across ECOWAS member countries. It needed to feel credible to that audience: modern, responsive, and easy to navigate, whether the visitor was reading a policy update or looking up governance details.

Brand-Aligned Interface
A clean, professional design built to align with WABA's identity and read as credible to bankers and policymakers.
Fully Responsive Front-End
Built with HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript to perform consistently across devices and browsers.
Content Architecture
Pages structured around WABA's history, governance, news, and events — organized for visitors who need to find specific information fast.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Worked directly with CIBN's IT and Communications teams through testing and deployment to get the site production-ready.

Behind the Project
My first big institutional project
Starting from a blank editor, with no template to follow
This was my first large-scale project for a recognized organization, and the learning curve was real — from structuring the codebase to getting Tailwind's utility classes to behave the way I wanted.
Translating a regional mandate into a navigable site
WABA's mission spans multiple countries and institutions, so the content architecture had to make governance, history, news, and events easy to find rather than burying them under one another.
Getting it production-ready through real feedback cycles
Several rounds of testing and design adjustments, done in close collaboration with CIBN's IT and Communications teams, took the site from a working draft to something ready to represent WABA publicly.
Results
- Live in production at wabanigeria.com, serving as WABA's official information hub.
- Positive reception from both the WABA Secretariat and the CIBN team.
- First major institutional project — a confidence-building milestone early in my career.
